I thought for a few minutes for a title that was witty and nothing came. Saying something is "official" sounds like it should be a good thing.
We know what the problem is with Abby. She has LHON.
Its no longer a mystery so in thats respects its good. On the other hand...
What does it mean? It means a lot of things.

{{HUGS}} Penny. I know you had pretty much accepted that this would be the diagnosis, but at least this can close the "search" aspect of it and allow you to focus you attention and energy on getting her the resources she needs. Children have an amazing ability to adapt in a way that adults can't...they are much more readily able to accept the challenges. LHON will give her challenges to face, but she's happy, healthy and strong and she's got great parents to advocate for her. It may not be the way you pictured her life (and that is hard to let go for us less adapting adults!) but she will amaze you every step of the way! If you need anything, you know where to find me!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Abby.
